Rebekka E. Böhme lives in Berlin and has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer since 2007. She works with artists from various disciplines, choreographers and companies, such as the Volksbühne Berlin/René Pollesch, Derida Dance Company, Deutsches Theater, performing:group, SETanztheater, the guts company, Alexandra Rauh, Yoshiko Waki, Alexandra Pirici, Naneci Yurdagül, VoLA StageArt, shua group and others.
Projects, performances and festivals have also taken her to Turkey, the Netherlands, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Serbia and Hungary.


She studied dance in Berlin and continued her training in Salzburg/Austria (with Cie. Helene Weinzierl, Jurai Korec) and in Israel (including Gaga and guest student at Vertigo Dance Company) as well as at numerous dance and circus workshops, including with Peeping Tom, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Anton Lachky, öff öff productions, CAB - Circus Akademie Berlin, Cirkus in Beweging Leuven (Erasmus+ scholarship 2019). In addition to training in bungee dance - 2021, she has since attended vertical & aerial dance workshops and masterclasses with Magalie Lanriot, Roel Seeber, Wanda Moretti, Kate Lawrence, Lindsey Butcher, Chantal McCormick, Amelia Rudolph, Juan Leiba, Anett Simmen, Antoine Le Menestrel and others. Rebekka was a scholarship holder of the University of Hildesheim Foundation and the Federal Academy for Cultural Education Wolfenbüttel and completed the 1-year certification course "Artistic Interventions in Cultural Education", funded by the Mercator Foundation.

Her choreographies and artistic productions are created in a wide variety of contexts. Inspired by human being, nature, science and the character of different sites, she creates dance theatre pieces, installative and site-specific performances, vertical dance performances and aerial dance performances at lofty heights, as well as experimental dance films. She also regularly develops performative and circus works with children and young people.
In the artistic collective mind_the_gut, she realised cross-genre works from 2009 to 2013 in collaboration with Johanna Roggan and artists from art disciplines such as film, music, interactive design, acting and others.

Rebekka also works in the fields of cultural education (e.g. Neue Nationalgalerie), conceptualisation and project coordination. She has organised cultural days, dance and exhibition events, coordinated festivals and assisted with dance and theatre productions.
She also teaches contemporary dance at home and abroad, leads workshops and performance projects and works as a circus trainer. She also teaches dance on the elastic/static rope, playing with the flying body.
