AERIAL . ROOTS
Based on contemporary dance, AERIAL.ROOTS is in search of new possibilities for movement and expression, in the field of tension between ‘being connected’ and ‘being free to move’. By playing with the architecture, the air and the particularity of the surroundings, the visual habits are challenged and new worlds are created. Through powerful movements and floating choreographies, a dynamic interaction between gravity and lightness unfolds. In an interdisciplinary exchange with other artists, various themes are addressed, new points of contact are created and stories are told.
VERTICAL DANCE
Vertical dance is practised while suspended, usually on the facades of houses, buildings, rocks or trees.
Wearing a harness and connected to a rope, the body is orientated horizontally. The wall becomes the floor and new perspectives and movement possibilities are created. Everyday places become the setting for extraordinary encounters that challenge our understanding of space and movement.
In aerial (harness) dance, the rope is attached to the ceiling and the body connected to it can take off from the floor and fly through the space.
